Blue Nile Education Pages

BlueNile.com is an industry powerhouse for online diamond and engagement ring sales. In 2015, new concept designs were created to test the effectiveness of taking a mobile first highly interactive approach to instructional content design. A design agency was contracted to re-write and re-design 4 of the 45 Blue Nile education pages. Based the provided mobile first designs and new mobile first take on content, the UX team was tasked with re-writing and designing the remaining 44 pages. Working in tandem with a talented copywriter Alison Brownrigg, and multiple subject matter experts within the company, the remaining 44 pages were redesigned and rewritten within 6 weeks.

Mr. Karma

Mr. Karma is an application built for the purpose of motivating users to commit acts of kindness through gamification and social media promotion. By making it simple to find ways to donate time, money, or goods as well as earning points, leveling up, and social media sharing, Mr. Karma hopes to increase random acts of kindness in order to make the world a better place. The design started as an idea of a friend, moved into defining goals of the platform, defining the users, creating user journeys, low fidelity and high fidelity prototyping for both desktop and mobile, usability testing, and style guide creation. This all resulted in a nearly finished design which is currently being developed.

GDMS UX Messaging

In 2018 the User Experience Center of Excellence within General Dynamics Mission Systems needed to revise their existing messaging for both internal and external audiences. The project started by conducting interviews with potential customers to gain an understanding of their needs from the UX team. After multiple messaging concepts and rounds of usability testing, the UX Center of Excellence published the new messaging which focused on how UX can customers execute their mission.
