UX design must start with conducting research to understand users' needs and their mission. Designing an experience that will continue to meet needs and expectations over time, requires benchmarking usability and conducting continuous usability testing on concept designs as well as deployed systems.

UI Usability Testing Results

Quantifying user experience requires a clear definition of primary user goals and establishing benchmark data. This presentation outlines the results of a 13-week Agile project which accomplished usability testing of an interactive prototype redesign of an existing system, using a 2-week sprint cycle. The tests evaluated 5 iterations of design, across 3 generations of users. The redesign started by creating primary and secondary user task workflows through collaborative work sessions with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and model-based systems engineers and ended with a fully developed functioning user interface.

TAP UI Remote Usability Testing

The Trusted Analytics Platform is a platform built for data scientists to train and deploy machine learning models. The original user interface was built prior to UX involvement and required an evaluation of the existing experience in order to determine improvements needed to meet users' needs. Remote usability testing was conducted with data scientists of varying skill levels.

AI Experience UI Remote Usability Testing

Working in tandem with NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) a concept design was created for a tool to assist end users decision making from data inputs. The first iteration was created and remote usability testing was conducted to determine how well the concepts met users' needs. The usability of the design was benchmarked and design improvements were implemented based on the results of the testing.
